Do I have to pay a delivery cost for my order ?
Engineered & Laminate flooring and standard flooring accessories. Our standard Delivery cost is £39.00 + VAT. All other products will be as per quotation.  *Subject to delivery in mainland UK. (excluding certain parts of Scotland)

What is the cost if my order is under £399 ex VAT?
A charge of £39.00 (and VAT) will be calculated in the shopping cart prior to the order being processed.

How soon can you deliver my order to me?
We aim to deliver all orders within 3 working days. However, some products may take longer to arrive so if you require your order urgently please telephone us on 01603 404080 and we will do our best to fulfill your order to meet your schedule.

Is there anything I should be aware of when I receive my order?
Help us to help you. When you receive your order you should inspect it and note any sign of damage onthe delivery note before accepting delivery as we cannot accept any responsibility for goods not signed for as damaged during delivery. Deliveries could be made from any size of vehicle and it is the drivers responsibility to ensure the goods are unloaded from the vehicle to the kerbside without damage. We recommend you have someone to help you to move the goods into your home or premises. Please advice at time of ordering any special instructions we will need to be aware of when delivering.

Do you send samples of your flooring?
Yes we can send samples. However, as samples are small and wood is a natural product, please understand it is only a representation. Please phone 01603 404080 for more advice.

I have no idea which floor I want. How many samples will you send me?
As you can imagine, we are inundated with requests for samples, for this reason we make a small charge to cover the cost of postage. For more information please phone 01603 404080

How long do the samples usually take to arrive?
Please allow up to 7 days for samples to arrive.

Does the flooring come with instructions?
Most branded flooring we sell comes with fitting instructions for floating flooring installations. If you are unsure in any way please contact us prior to purchase.

Can a laminated or wooden floor be fitted on top of concrete or onto ceramic tiles?
You can lay these floors over concrete. You must use a moisture barrier (DPM) first. Standard polyethylene sheeting will also work fine.

Can I put heavy appliances on a wood floor in a kitchen?
You can install the appliances on top of the floor. If you ever need to move them we recommend covering the wood with heavy rug or similar to protect it from any scratches that may occur.

Do I need underlay with a 'floating floor'?
Underlay is primarily used to cushion between two hard surfaces. In addition it can help level out small variations in the subfloor. It is good practice to achieve a flat surface prior to installation being completed. Some manufacturers do insist on appropriate underlay being used with their products.

What about stains or marks?
Usually stains don't penatrate very deeply and can be removed by simply sanding the stain or mark away. If the stain is very deep this becomes harder.

What is a 'floating floor'?
This is a term used to describe a floor layed down on top of underlay (very common). What this means is that the boards themselves aren't fixed to the sub floor underneath, only joined to each other. This allows for the expansion or contraction required as wood is a natural product.

What is laminate flooring?
Laminates are printed imitation wood effect surfaces that are applied to a composite wood products like MDF with a base stabiliser board. This simulated wood grain or other pattern is produced out of paper, plastic or foil and then bonded to the base product. Laminates tend to be cheaper than construction or solid boards as they don't contain any real wood and are usually much thinner.

What is construction/engineered wood flooring?
Construction flooring, also called Engineered, is made with a top surface of real hardwood veneer (Eg. cherry, oak etc). The top is bonded to another composite wood (usually spruce) product like plywood or particle board. These tend to be the most popular type of flooring as they give a real wood finish (unlike laminate) for a more reasonable cost than one would pay for Solid Wood flooring.

What is solid wood flooring?
Solid wood flooring is as it sounds, "solid wood" is one piece of timber from top to bottom (the length and width of the board sometimes can be constructed of sections of solid wood or be one continuous length of timber).

What is DPM?
DPM stands for Damp Proof Membrane. This is a moisture barrier which can be supplied either on its own or, or built in to an underlay. It is required under the wood if a concrete sub floor is present. Most manufacturers stipulate its use so as not to invalidate the warranty.
