Boen's Surface Finishes
Protect Ultra Protect Ultra
Protect Ultra is a very hard-wearing and extremely scratch resistant lacquer. Protect Ultra is available in the customary silk finish. Protect Ultra is cured by UV light and does not emit any dangerous chemicals or gases.
White Pigment
White pigmentation is used to finish the wood to establish a modern appearance. BOEN mainly use Matt lacquer in combination with white pigmentation.

Brushing
Brushing is used together with staining to enhance the woods structure. The surface can be either lacquered or oiled.

Staining
Over recent years there has been an increasing interest in dark, warm colours which are usually found in the tropical wood types. In keeping with the roups
environmental policy BOEN continually develop new stain colours to replace the tropical woods, stained products are usually lacquered with silk or matt lacquer.
Matt Lacquer Matt Lacquer
Matt lacquer gives the appearance of an oiled floor. Matt lacquer gives the same hard-wearing surface as Protect Ultra, but has a lesser degree of luster.
Satin Lacquer T79 - Satin Lacquer
Formulated for the easy application of additional protective coats, where applicable.
Ecoline Oil Ecoline Oil
Ecoline is an oil which is cured by UV light. The oil is composed of sunflower oil, soya oil, carnauba wax and bees wax. The surface does not emit any dangerous chemicals or gases.
Boen Engineered Wood Flooring - Stability Guaranteed
Top layer - More than 18 high-quality types of wood and numerous surface treatments are available.
Middle layer - Thoroughly selected strips made of spruce, with standing or half-standing year rings, offer high dimensional stability.
Bottom layer - The underlay made of spruce veneer is manufactured from one piece and allows stable back pull.
Natural Oil Natural Oil
Natural oil is an oxidising oil which is cured with the help of the oxygen in the air. Natural oil penetrates deep into the wood.

BOEN X-PRESS
The inserted flexible tongue is the key element in the fold down locking system. When pressing down the board, the tongue will lock and make the “single action” movement possible.

On the long side of the board, Boen will continue using the regular BOEN Clic system.
With BOEN X-Press installation time is improved by up to 40% compared to previous systems!

Care & Maintenance
A Boen floor, whether treated with lacquer or oil, has a surface which helps protect the floor from damage. If the floor is well taken care of, it will remain beautiful for decades !

Ambient climate
Both you and your BOEN floor will benefit from a healthy ambient climate. A room temperature of 20 to 22 degrees Celsius and relative humidity of about 50 to 65 % will provide ideal conditions for you and your floor. It goes without saying that rooms should not just be heated but also regularly aired. Especially in new buildings it is possible that residual damp from walls and floors make it necessary to use de-humidifiers.

Care and maintenance program
boen engineered hardwood flooringBOEN floors come with pre-lacquered or pre-oiled surface. However, using the floor will leave its marks. Therefore we recommend starting a regular routine of maintenance from day one. This ensures that the flooring can be enjoyed by many generations to come. The BOEN maintenance program contains a complete range of products to care and maintain your BOEN floor. How often you maintain your floor will depend on how you use and treat it.

Cleaning
For normal domestic cleaning all you need is a mop, a brush or a vacuum cleaner. In everyday cleaning you add 50 ml "Parquet Cleaner" to 10 litres of water and then moisten the floor. Parquet should never be submersed, because the wood will swell and be damaged. This means the cleaning solution should be removed immediately. See special information on lacquered, oiled or untreated floors.
Recommendations on the frequency of cleaning and care
moderate domestic use (bedrooms and living rooms): as required, every six months
average to heavy use (stairs, corridors, offices with public access): every two weeks
heavy use (restaurants, department stores, barracks, schools): every week

Product stability
Wood continually expands and contracts in accordance with changes in humidity. The thicker and wider the staves are, the greater the variation experienced.

Comparison tests show that BOEN multi layer hardwood flooring has very little convex and concave movement. This is due to a combination of narrow strips, correct composition of the blocking layer, a very good adhesion process and continuous follow-up based on BOEN's Quality Control System.

Some Boen engineered boards are suitable for under floor heating.
In order to preserve the environment, all Boen wood floors come from sustainable forests. Species include Oak, Ash, Birch, Beech, Cherry, Teak, Mutenye, Hickory, Jarrah, Red Oak, Maple, Iroko, Jatoba, Merbau, Kempas, Walnut & Doussie.
